The wings weren't crucial.

From the ICA website:

"For his latest book, Dave Eggers, author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and the novel You Shall Know Our Velocity, Dave Eggers has spent years entrenching himself in the community of Sudanese refugees in the US and travelled to the Sudan itself to write What is the What, a fictionalised account of the early life of a Sudanese war orphan called Valentino Achak Deng, a refugee from one of the most brutal civil wars Africa has ever known. In this unique encounter, both come to the ICA to talk about the project, and about the human impact of war in Sudan."

Needless to say, I've just bought tickets and I'm incomprehensibly happy. Probably my biggest literary idol and a man whose story reduced me to weeping, I can't wait.

I sure am. I'm kinda stuck on this big long piece of vomit about boyhood at the moment. I keep trying to condense it but the damn thing refuses to stop growing.

I've also been reading a bit more theory so hopefully it'll be little more secure in itself than my other stuff.

Watch this space :)

There's more to DA than just visual art
:iconautolux:
It's nice to impress someone who makes a different form of art from yours.. Unfortunately, i can't say i can fully understand your work. Even in my mother tongue, poetry has always been something too far from what i can easily comprehend. It makes me feel quite ignorant, actually. Whenever i read something, i can easily see that there is a lot behind it, but i'm just not able to capture it. Like a whole world of toughts and emotions i don't seem to be able to feel. Anyway, it's great you're able to express your feelings in such a well-tought and 'difficult' way. Keep up the good work!

(I've never wrote such a long comment. You should be proud lol!)

I suppose we're modern lovers. We meet, fuck and we don't hear each other.
